2002 is about halfway over because it's already summer.

I thought summer would bring more activity to the boards but actually it made them die a little bit.

Our next big plan is the move to Burning Board to increase activity.

Burning Board requires a host.

there are some pretty good darn reasons why it's better to have to host instead of it being hosted by itself.

Some hosts require you to pay.

Paying hosts probably are offering users / members to have their own '.com/.net/.org' domain for real business. Such uses are purposes for examples of 'proboards.com' since the price isn't so dramatic, so rich people would consider using those. Non paying hosts don't give as much as a first impression, they probably offer a subdomain for example 'http://lordnick.proboards6.com'. The underlined word represents the subdomain, which if it were a domain would be 'http://www.lordnick.com' which wouldn't be my choice. Free hosts such as this board, proboards, offer as much as the service can handle. A paid host such as rackshack would offer much more since money is being offered, probably a place allowing PHP and MySQL capabilities; a large amount to store data and ability to install enhanced programs on the server such as vBulletin, vBulletinlite, Burning Board, XMB, and iKonboard which are just a couple examples of what the world of the internet can really offer to it's users.

A .com, .net or, .org would require money for you to be able to keep it.
